20/20 Story

“Store up for yourself the treasure of a good foundation …..” 1Timothy 6:19

Dear FCA Friend,

Every now and again an opportunity comes along that you know is right for its time. You know in your heart, that it’s the right thing to do. Vision 20/20 is one of those opportunities. We truly are pioneers embarking on a new and incredible journey. With our faith to guide us and our mission to sustain us, we will build a legacy to shape and inspire our children and our children’s children for generations to come.

I am thrilled to announce to you that the Foundation Christian Academy Board of Trustees has approved a 5 year campaign to dramatically expand and greatly enhance our facilities. This starts with the purchase of an additional 18 acres from the Bell Shoals church giving our students a beautiful 25 acre campus. This will include a new state of the art high school and middle school complete with a contemporary student development center, Panther Canteen, modern science lab and elevated bible theater with multimedia capabilities.

Students will also enjoy an athletic experience second to none on our football, soccer, baseball, softball, track, and cross country fields.  We will both expand and remodel our sports field complex and add lighting, scoreboards, and a new field house complete with restroom facilities, concessions, and a second story panoramic press-box.

This expansion will feature a new and visionary campus hub called the FCA Centerplex.  This will serve every student on our campus as the core of educational and developmental activity.  Students will enjoy lunch at the Panther Café with both inside and outdoor patio seating.  Basketball and volleyball games will be played indoors in a climate controlled environment.  Students will graduate on the FCA campus by walking across a stage in our new auditorium that comfortably seats 1000 friends and family. The Panther Pit will host our weight training complex.  Students can socialize outdoors with their friends at the trendy Panther Plaza.

Music and art are being dropped from public education at an epidemic rate yet the top 200 schools in the country spend up to 30% of their budget in this essential field of study.  I am proud to announce a new emphasis on this vital curriculum, establishing leading edge facilities within the Centerplex.  The drama and music department will have oversized classrooms, storage, staging, lighting, audio equipment, and a cutting-edge auditorium for student performances. This plan underscores our commitment to lead the way in the field of music and arts education.

Most importantly, FCA students will have the facilities necessary for a comprehensive education grounded in the teachings of Christ Jesus.  This campus expansion will allow us to serve twice as many students nurturing every aspect of growth and development.  We believe we have an awesome responsibility to inspire our young people to be outstanding citizens of our community and also pillars of Christian love and service.

Phase I of this project is to develop and build the Centerplex. We can break ground in the spring of 2015 provided our FCA family and our community will link arms with us in raising 1.5 million dollars in the next few weeks.  To show our commitment and confidence in this campaign, the eight members of the Board of Trustees are personally funding a $750,000 dollar for dollar matching challenge.

I excited to announce this strategic expansion and to ask you for your urgent consideration helping this vision become reality.  My hope is that you will become a Panther Partner by committing a five year pledge that will give us the confidence to have a shovel in the ground.  Please be generous and join us today in this effort so we can get started on Phase I of our grand vision for the FCA student body.

I know you will want to be part of this exciting time in the history of our school.  I thank you in advance for becoming a Panther Partner and together we can and will do this.  Thanks for all you do for FCA and may the blessings of Christ Jesus be with you.

Warm Regards,

Ken Franklin Jr.
